Method

  1. Bring the water, ginger, turmeric, and black pepper to a gentle simmer.
  2. Cover and steep over low heat for 8 to 10 minutes.
  3. Strain into two cups, then finish with lemon and your preferred sweetener.

Spice note: Black pepper adds a subtle warmth and helps the turmeric feel rounded rather than earthy.

Method
